It's my birthday in a few days time so my Mum and I thought we'd go out and celebrate.  We decided to go for an afternoon tea at AC Hotel for a child free  afternoon with lots of cake and tea.  Bliss!  AC Hotel is along the Wharfside just outside of the Mailbox, one of my favourite parts of Birmingham. 

 

When we arrived we were greeted warmly by our waiter and offered a selection of teas and coffees.   We both opted for a classic English Breakfast.  As we began to relax into our seats our afternoon tea arrived.  It was beautifully presented full to the brim with a generous amount of sandwiches and sweet treats.  We both decided our favourite part of the tea were the puddings.  The lemon creme caramel was the highlight.  This consisted of a sumptuous layer of lemon creme caramel and a delicious creamy layer of lemon curd.  It came with two buttery almond biscuits and a sweet strawberry.  Delicious!
