It's not often I get to go out with my friend.   When we plan a night out one of our children invariable gets ill.  Or one of us has had a terrible nights sleep and the thought of leaving the house after 7pm is too much to contemplate.  Last night the stars aligned and we went out.  We were both giddy with excitement!  We decided to head to Wolverhampton Grand Theatre which is a simple journey by train from New Street Station.  We were there to see the show Club Tropicana, a story of a hotel where the drinks are free and the fun never ends.  It was a joyous celebration of the 80s full of big hair, lycra, neon and 20 of the best tracks of the time.  There were some recognisable names in the cast list including Joe McElderry (X Factor winner), Neil McDermott (EastEnders) and former Sugababe star Amelle Berrabah.  However the stand out actor for me was Kate Robbins (Spitting Image).  Who did some fantastic impersonations including a brilliant Margaret Thatcher!

This was a great girls night out which ended in everyone in the theatre on their feet dancing a long to a mega mix of classic 80s tunes performed by the cast.
