Booktober: Family Day

Drop-in for a fun-filled day dedicated to all things reading and books!
Enjoy story sessions, crafts, and more. Get creative by designing a bookmark inspired by your favourite literary character, and relax in our cozy reading corner to discover new books and revisit old favourites.

Join Serena Patel, the award winning author of ‘Anisha Accidental Detective’ for fun writing activities, storytelling tips and book-inspired crafts.
Bookmark Making Craft, 11:00 – 15:00
Get creative and make your own bookmarks to take home.
Interactive story session: A Rainbow for Amala, 13:00 – 15:00
Inspired by their new interactive storybook ‘A Rainbow for Amala’, join The Other Way Works for some code-breaking and puzzle-solving activities. Hear extracts from the story, solve puzzles and crack the codes to unlock your reward!
Cosy Book Corner
Relax with a good book in our reading space, hosted by How Brave is the Wren.
Books by The Other Way Works, Serena Patel and other titles will be available to purchase by card on the day.

Family Heritage Tours at The Exchange

The Exchange’s family tours take you on an interactive exploration of this fascinating building. With help from objects, archives and our friendly guides, step into the shoes of those who once worked and banked in this historic building.
Take a seat at the table in the Board Room and learn about coins in the Bank Manager’s office. Design your dream working lunch in the former canteen and consider the special things you’d safeguard in the safety deposit boxes as you explore The Vaults.
