Yesterday on an unseasonably hot day in September I was invited to Moor Hall Hotel to try out their Christmas afternoon tea. As I walked into the beautiful hotel I was greeted by a gorgeous Christmas tree and carols playing in the background. It felt rather surreal, particularly as I was dressed in summer clothes! However the festive spirit soon took hold of me when I was offered the most delicious Christmas gin cocktail. For those of you who are obsessed with gin like I am it had a measure of Christmas edition Edinburgh Gin Frankincense and Myrrh flavor, angustorus bitters flavored tonic with a cinnamon stick and dried orange slice.
After the delicious cocktail Christmas afternoon tea was served. It was packed full of festive treats including turkey, cranberry sauce and stuffing sandwiches. Stollen bites, Christmas cake bites and my absolute favorite mulled wine trifle. It really was a great way to get in the festive spirit.
