The Nutcracker is back in Birmingham and more magical than ever.  This production comes from London for the first ever time and is performed by Birmingham Royal Ballet at the Hippodrome.  It uses immersive projections from 59 Productions (War Horse, London 2012 Opening Ceremony) and a dazzling wall of mirrors to tell this timeless tale.  The production takes you on a magical midnight odyssey from Drosselmeyer (the voice of Simon Callow) and his toyshop to the Stahlbaums’ spectacular Christmas party, via King Rat’s wild battle with the Nutcracker to the land of the Sugar Plum Fairy.

We had the most fabulous time at Birmingham Hippodrome. It was such a magical performance and was a great start to the Christmas season.  I took my 8yr old and 6yr old boys and they were spellbound. Highlights included the King Rat's battle with the Nutcracker and the magical snow scene.  There's so much beauty in this special performance of the Nutcracker. It's a must this Christmas!
